New Model Army aussi appelé NMA, est un groupe de rock indépendant britannique fondé en 1980 par Justin Sullivan et Robert Heaton. Ils sont bien connus pour leur engagement inflexible vis à vis de leur vision originale de la musique, de la manière dont elle doi être jouée, ainsi que pour leur éthique. De ce fait, ils ont souvent été catalogués comme un groupe punk. Même si l'influence principale est le punk (mais plus mélodique que la plupart des représentants de ce genre), NMA n'hésite pas à s'inspirer, voire intégrer, d'autres styles musicaux tel que le Folk.
Son nom provient de la New Model Army fondée par Oliver Cromwell lors de la Première révolution anglaise. Ce trio anglais est devenu un groupe culte par la grâce de performances scéniques à la frontière du chaos.
