Elliott Murphy And The Normandy All Stars ~ Le New Morning. Paris.

Elliott Murphy est un auteur-compositeur-interprète, musicien et écrivain américain. Lorsque "Aquashow", le tout premier album d'Elliott, sort en novembre 1973 sur le label Polydor, les critiques unanimes lui réservent un accueil triomphal. On voit fleurir des articles dans des journaux aussi prestigieux que Rolling Stone, Newsweek, The New Yorker... Radios et télévisions enfoncent le clou et consacrent ELLIOTT comme le nouveau Dylan, le nouveau Lou Reed ou le F. Scott Fitzgerald du Rock'n'roll. Musicien talentueux et humble. Depuis la fin des années 80, Elliott Murphy vit en parfait 'Américain à Paris' et parcourt l’Europe, enchaînant un nombre impressionnant de concerts. Il s'est affirmé comme un formidable artiste de scène sur lesquelles il a l'habitude de se donner sans compter. C'est une imagerie , un temps déjà vécu , qui inspirent ces chansons où on relève des noms, voire même des phrases, un style. Toujours nostalgiques, jamais franchement rétro... Bruce Springsteen l'appelle son 'frère de sang' et Garland Jeffries ou Iain Matthews pourraient en dire autant. Il s'impose désormais en figure légendaire du folk rock américain. Un concert d'Elliot Murphy, c'est toujours un moment d'une rare intensité.
