Derek Trucks, est un chanteur, compositeur, guitariste et producteur américain, neveu de Claude Hudson Butch Trucks, batteur de la légendaire formation blues rock The Allman Brothers Band, autant dire une véritable institution de l'autre côté de l'Atlantique. Il a rencontré la chanteuse et musicienne américaine de blues et de soul, Susan Tedeschi et ils se sont mariés en 2001. Considéré comme un musicien prodige et comme l'un des meilleurs guitaristes de sa génération, il fonde son propre groupe alors qu'il est agè de 25 ans, The Derek Trucks Band, tout en continuant à jouer avec les Allman Brothers. Derek Trucks a été choisi par Eric Clapton pour faire partie de son backing band pour sa tournée mondiale en 2006.
